Live Cam: Byrne Circle Interchange Reconstruction

In September of 2013, the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) began work on the reconstruction of the Jane Byrne Circle Interchange, the expressway network just west of downtown Chicago and only blocks from the Urban Transportation Center at UIC.  With cooperation from IDOT, the UTC installed a live video camera to chronicle reconstruction work.  The Byrne Circle Interchange connects the Dan Ryan Expressway to the south, Eisenhower Expressway to the west, Congress Parkway to the east and Kennedy Expressway to the north.  The project is expected to cost $475 million and take four years to complete. Read a UTC news story, and visit the UIC Circle Interchange page for construction progress and news related to street, parking and travel changes.
