First Quarter 2018

Transportation Research Board 97th Annual Meeting — January 7-11, 2018

The 97th Transportation Research Board Annual meeting was held in Washington, D.C. at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. The information-packed program attracted 13,000 transportation professionals from around the world. The TRB Annual Meeting covered all transportation modes, with more than 5,000 presentations in nearly 800 sessions and workshops. National Shared Mobility Summit — March 12-14, 2018

Now in its second year, this three-day event will bring transportation and planning leaders together to discuss the latest developments in carsharing, shared autonomous and electric vehicles, bikesharing, e-hailing, microtransit and more. The Summit is hosted by the Shared Use Mobility Center, which maintains offices in Chicago and Los Angeles. The venue is the Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel.

TMA of Lake Cook 2018 Construction Meeting — March 16, 2018

TMA of Lake Cook will host its Annual Highway Construction Meeting, where speakers from the Illinois Department of Transportation, Lake County Division of Transportation, Cook County Department of Highways and Transportation, Illinois Tollway, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, and neighboring communities will provide an overview of construction projects planned for 2018. The meeting will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. March 16 at the Baxter Healthcare Auditorium in Deerfield, Illinois.

Joint Rail Conference — April 18-20, 2018

The international Joint Rail Conference is the premier technical event in the U.S.A. including all discipline for freight and passenger rail transportation; mechanical, electrical, civil, and systems engineering, as well as rail safety, planning, design, manufacturing, financing, operations, and management.  The 2018 JRC will be held in Pittsburgh. American Real Estate Society Annual Meeting –April 10-14, 2018

ares_headerThe 34th Annual ARES Meeting brings together real estate thought leaders to discuss a wide range of topics, including the impact of transportation on real estate development and expansion. Members are drawn from academia and the profession at large. The venue is the  Hyatt Regency Coconut Point in Bonita Springs, Florida.

Transportation Research Forum — April 10-11, 2018

Founded in 1958, the Transportation Research Forum (TRF) is an independent organization of transportation professionals. The annual forum provides pertinent and timely information to those who conduct research and those who use and benefit from research.  In 2018, the event will be held in Minneapolis.

Illinois Bike Summit — May 7, 2018

This day-long event will feature talks by Randy Blankenhorn, Illinois Department of Transportation Secretary, and Rebekah Scheinfeld, Commissioner of the Chicago Department of Transportation.  Session topics include bike share models, bicycle infrastructure and others.  The location is the Student Center East at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

AASHTO Spring Meeting — May 21-24, 2018

The 2018 AASHTO Spring Meeting will be held in Franklin, Tennessee and brings together state departments of transportation officials to discuss a broad range of transportation issues and participate in sessions that cover the latest in industry policies and innovations.  The venue is the Franklin Marriott Cool Springs.

Transport Chicago 2018 — June 1, 2018

Now in its 33nd year, the annual Transport Chicago event brings together industry professionals, academics and students together for a full day of learning on all modes of transportation.  Watch for more details and registration information soon.

CUTC Summer Meeting — June 4-6, 2018

The summer meeting of the  Council of Urban Transportation Centers (CUTC) will be held at the University of Minnesota. The venue is TCF Bank Stadium.

UIC Urban Forum Wordmark-2015UIC 2018 Urban Forum — September 13, 2018

With roots dating back to 1995, the UIC Urban Forum is a day-long symposium “designed to advance the dialogue about the future of urban communities.” The them of the 2018 conference: “The People’s Money: Pensions, Debt and Government Services.” Session information and registration will be available in July.

AREMA Annual Conference and Exposition — September 16-19, 2018

The AREMA Annual Conference & Exposition is the premiere event for railway engineering professionals.  Sessions will address track, structures, passenger and transit, maintenance, engineering services and communications and signal. The conference will be held at the Hilton Hotel in Chicago.

AASHTO 2018 Annual Meeting — September 20-24, 2018

This meeting is one of the transportation industry’s most important gatherings of transportation, government and commercial organizations. The four-day AASHTO 2018 Annual Meeting will be held at the Westin Peachtree Hotel in Atlanta.  Visit the AASHTO website for registration information.

APTA 2018 Annual Meeting — September 23-25, 2018

The American Public Transportation Association’s 2017 Annual Meeting will bring public transportation leadership and staff, representatives of governmental agencies and businesses, manufacturers, suppliers, and consultants together for meetings, workshops and presentations. The venue is the Omni Nashville Hotel.
